If you go to Target, Home Depot or any of the other big chains that sell the Toro Electric Shovel you will probably find the same thing that I did...that it is SOLD OUT. Why? Because this is one of the most helpful tools to have ever been placed on the market. It works fairly well on small... -

Have you considered the option of a PO box at the post office. Oh wait, if you live in an area where snow plows are an issue then maybe driving to the PO is as well?
Winter is coming and Thomas, being a small engine, needs to put on his snowplow. Thomas hates his snowplow; he thinks it makes him look funny, and when he has it on, the other, bigger engines tease him. But Thomas saves the day when a big storm comes up and Toby is stuck on his branch line.
Describes and illustrates the job of a snowplow driver and how a snowplow works.
The redoubtable Grandma-this books is a sequel to Grandma Drove the Garbage Truck-is at it again. In addition to collecting the town's garbage, Grandma and her sons also plow the roads in the winter. But what happens when a blizzard comes through, it's the day of the big town carol sing, and Grandma's sons are all stuck in the snow and unable to plow? Leave it to Grandma to clear the way to the church for the carol sing. With more help from her grandson Billy, she gets the streets clear and helps out her neighbors in the process, too. In fact, Grandma does such a good job with the plowing, she even beats Santa to the carol sing.

Keep roads in township
Well, I just had to respond to the Newport Township Chairman Jesse Weaver’s irresponsible and unrealistic figures he put forth in your paper in the last couple weeks on “single purpose roads.” First of all, I have to correct the chairman’s figure of $1,672 of state and county transportation aids to each mile of Newport highways. That figure is incorrect. My figure of $2,200 a mile was correct, and in fact, has risen slightly to exactly $2,237.66 for 2012.
The figures the chairman quoted on snow plowing and other costs relating to capital expenditures and reconstructing costs were apparently just picked out of the air in frustration and desperation to respond quickly to my letter. He was trying to save face on a ridiculous rant about the excessive costs of these so called “single purpose roads.”
All of his grandiose figures on capital expenses and reconstruction costs are “moot.” They haven’t happened in 50 years and apparently will take more time than that to happen in the future.

Just so you know it is quite common to use bobcats to remove snow. In Canada we have these things called sidewalks, and it’s really hard for the big trucks to plow them without ruining everyone’s front lawn. So what happens is a bobcat does it. They are equipped with either a blower or a wedge plow which easily passes through the snow. I personally witnessed a bobcat traveling through 3′ of snow yesterday. I know it is really hard to believe for you people who have never seen snow. Just imagine it is like sand or mud, but lighter. This guy just went over an edge he shouldn’t have. Is this LOC? Clarke Rd. maybe?
Its almost universal to re-purpose earth moving machines for snow duty during the winter in northern climates, since you can’t do construction during the winter and will need to move HEAVY mounds of snow. You can’t always just “push it aside.” Sometimes there so much of it you need to pile it all up in one corner or some such.
I live in Minneapolis, and see those things all over the place during the winter. True, the city uses “real” plows (actually mini-tractors with rotary brushes) for sidewalks, but most private companies use Bobcats (which can be re-purposed during the summer), and do just fine. Even the city uses bobcats for cleaning up intersections after the bigger plows clean the streets. Hell, they use a full sized front end loader to do my alley!
The “Fail” here is the idiot who didn’t put any railing, berm, bumper, or flags at the edge of that dropoff. Unlike some of the commentors here, they don’t even have the excuse of never having seen a real snowfall.
