Works great within its limits
I've used this ThermoCube for a few years to protect some vulnerable water pipes in an otherwise unheated shed. There are several cosmetically-identical versions. The TC-3 model (on this page) is designed to turn on at 35F and off at 45F, which is pretty critical information that should be in the... -
Does what it says, but poor design for an outside outlet.
Seems to work as stated, but if you have a use for this in an outside recepticle as I did,(heated water bowel and a bird bath heater), then reconsider!! All my outside outlets have a metal weather cap an the top and this cube is too large and hits the weather cap, so it does not plug all the way...

Okay, so our split system heat pump quit working apparently yesterday or very recently. The air doesn't get as cool, and it runs from the machines in the basement, with the external heat pump outside of the house.
Yup. Go check your Breaker Box and make sury the outside unit has power, The buzzing is the contacter from the thermostat.
In my home I have a water boiler which is turned on by a switch downstairs in the kitchen. We also have a shower that we don't use that has its own power switch in the boiler cupboard.
Its possible that switch turns on a circulating pump, the only reason this would be done is it was added later or the relay needed to turn it on cost to much.or it could be a switch for a zone valve for those pipes where do they go ?
I live in Costa Rica off the grid. We have solar panel and a 48v batt system. I recently bought a Lorenzetti shower heater, a huge nozzle that you attach to the pipe and to the power and heats up the water before it comes out.
4000 watts is far more than is normally on a single circuit, like your outlets. That's one of the reasons the instructions say the device must be wired directly into the service panel (switchboard). It's like a stove in its requirements.

New Vigilant firehouse; a real life story of going from rags to riches
The Vigilant Hose Fire Company and Shippensburg Area EMS will march down King Street On June 16 in full uniform, bringing their ambulances, fire trucks, tankers and other toys to the new firehouse on Walnut Bottom Road.
It’s the final step in a real life rags-to-riches story.
Vigilant’s current home was built in 1927, with additions made twice after that. Although Vigilant President Danny Byers couldn’t say whether they all shared the building at the same time or not, it has been the home of the Shippensburg Police Department, Borough Council and the Magisterial District Justice over the years.
“The building has been well used and it served its purpose, but we should have built a new building 10 years ago,” Byers said. “We are going to miss the pride and tradition that’s a part of this building.”
Having joined Vigilant in 1972 and being chief for nine years and president for the last 10 years, Byers has seen countless firefighters come and go and he knows better than most just how inadequate the fire house has been for quite some time.

This pipe heat cable is a great buy and the quality is superior – much better, heavier, than the ones that I have bought locally. I like the LED feature to tell me that it is operational. I use it on a 300 gallon stock tank used to raise fish for aquaponics. I will look for M-D Building Products in the future and recommend the pipe heating cable to everyone.
I have a 110-year-old house with a flat roof. It’s a beautiful old row house in the city. The problem with a flat roof — as everyone knows — is a lack of drainage. In wintertime, the area around the downspout collects water during the day when the sun is out and the surface (at least) freezes when the sun goes down. That causes a back-up of water and leaking down the interior walls. NOT A GOOD THING!!! This “heater” cable keeps things just warm enough to keep the water flowing down the spout and out of the house. It has a thermostat control which means it only uses electricity when the temperature dips below a certain level.Easy Heat EH-38 Freeze Thermostatically Controlled Valve and Pipe ...
Automatically turns on heating cable only when needed (35 or less). Unit extends cable life, saves energy, eliminates the need to unplug cables in warm weather or forgetting to plug in cables when temperatures fall. Power indicator light. Easy to install.
