Decent but Be Aware of it's Limitations
The Toro Power Curve is not a bad machine for the right situations. At times I've been impressed by its effort-- but ultimately my needs were more than it could handle. I give it a mostly positive recommendation, but before buying just make sure you aren't expecting too much from this... -

Tri-Cities braces for snowstorm
Snow shovels, ice melt and window scrapers were priority items on Mid-Columbians' shopping lists this week after experts predicted snow.
So far this winter, the region has been fortunate, as Mother Nature sent only a smattering of the white stuff. But spokespersons from the National Weather Service expected everyone in the Mid-Columbia to wake up to a white world this morning.
Here is the link to a slideshow presentation by the National Weather Service in Pendleton.
If not, it's only a matter of time. Western Washington residents have been slipping and sliding for the past couple of days, and the state Department of Transportation closed Snoqualmie Pass for several hours Tuesday for avalanche control -- and plan to do the same today on Stevens Pass.
At Commercial Tire in Pasco, manager Thad Sturtevant hasn't seen an inordinate number of customers buying snow tires this week.
"After Christmas, most people know historically that if we do get snow, it's not going to last. They just tough it out," Sturtevant said. "But we have seen some people in buying chains, especially if they're going over the passes. They sound like they're really nasty."
John Deere 1332PE Snow Blower
The John Deere 1332PE dual stage snow blower has an impressive 32 inch clearing width. This model is almost always exclusively used by professional contractors and commercial outfits due to it’s size and robust power output. The JD 1332PE snow thrower is powered by a 4 stroke snow series ‘MAX’ engine designed and built by Briggs and Stratton. This engine provides 16.5 ft-lbs of gross torque power which is identical to the gross torque power of the John Deere 1330SE snowblower .
The 4 quart fuel tank provided with the John Deere 1332PE snowblower will allow you to operate the machine for long periods without having to refill it every 5 minutes. The JD 1332PE is very easy to operate thanks in part to it’s well constructed chassis and parts. The dash mounted chute deflector is electronically controlled and is able to rotate through 200 degrees so that you will always be able to direct snow away from the area you are clearing.
The engine powering the John Deere 1332PE snow thrower routes power to it’s wheels via a friction disk drive transmission that give it 6 gears going forward and 2 when reversing. Like the other large snow blowers in this series, the JD 1332PE’s handles are heated for comfort which makes operating it for long hours much easier and more comfortable than snow blowers from days gone by. This machine uses a serrated steel auger for cutting into snow and breaking it up effectively before spitting it out the chute deflector. This model should be big enough for most contractors, but if not, there is always the slightly bigger John Deere 1338PE snow blower .

John Deere 1028E Snow Blower
The John Deere 1028E 28 inch snow blower is a powerful model that should be adequate for clearing most residential driveways and smaller commercial premises. This dual stage snow blower is the bigger brother of the John Deere 827E snow thrower . It’s 4 stroke, Briggs and Stratton, 0.35 liter snow series engine that provides the snowblower with 12.5 feet-lbs of gross torque power. Like all modern John Deere snowblowers, the JD 1028E has a push button 110 volt starter. The gas tank on this model has a 3 quart gasoline capacity.
The 14 inch, serrated, steel auger efficiently cuts into snow and expels it via the electronically controlled deflector chute that has a turning radius of 200 degrees. One of the best features of the John Deere 1028E snow blower is it’s heated handles that come with the machine as standard. The machine moves forward with 6 different speeds and 2 different speeds in reverse thanks to it’s friction disk drive transmission.
