Does a surprisingly good job for its size and price
Just bought the model SJ621 (Same as the SJ620 except it has a halogen light at the front) at a big box club store. I wanted the unit with the light and Amazon doesn't seem to carry the SJ621, so I'll review the mechanicals of the SJ621 which are identical to the SJ620. First used this little... -
Great Little Snow Blower!!!
This is a great little snow blower! Bought it after reading several reviews from different sites and decided to try it. I am very glad I did. Amazon has one of the best prices on it and got it in 3 days! I was worried that it wouldn't cut thru the snow very well but others had said in their...

Central Pennsylvania road crews work fast to keep nature at bay
“We’re trying to catch up with leaf pickup, then we have to get ready for snow,” said Gregory Moll, public works director in Upper Allen Twp.
Whether the job is known as roadmaster in small rural municipalities, or public works director or highway superintendent in larger ones, taking care of roads has become a multi-faceted job with greater responsibilities — but one still dependent on Mother Nature.
“There’s a lot to do in a little township,” Moll said of Upper Allen Twp., which has 67 miles of township roads and 10 miles of state highways.
Last year was an unusual one in the township, Moll said.
“We spent more time plowing and salting than in the last three or four years,” Moll said.
Brush pickup took even more time, thanks to the Halloween snow, Moll said.

Plow Update: County Crews Work 24/7 To Clear Residential Areas ...
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Spokane County crews continue to work in 12-hour shifts around the clock to plow the entire 2,550 system before colder temperatures move into the area this weekend. With the snowiest November on record, crews have had to repeatedly return to plowing/sanding emergency routes, primary arterials and secondary roads (in that order). This week's warmer temperatures melted the floor of compact snow and ice. As motorists break through, vehicles become stuck in the churned up slush and/or rutted surfaces. With colder weather in the forecast, crews are working to clear the entire road system before the slush-ruts freeze solid.
Currently, County crews are using approximately 60 pieces of equipment and five private contractors with graders have been hired. Together they have moved into residential neighborhoods – especially in the northern and southeast sections of the County.
According to the National Weather Service, we're going to see a short break in the weather…at least until next week when more snow is expected. Unfortunately, temperatures will drop and the slushy conditions will freeze into a hard, rutted surface – slowing plowing efforts. So, road crews will continue to work 24/7 to clear the entire County road system by Sunday morning.
The public can assist snow removal efforts by moving parked cars off of streets and roads…AND DO NOT snowblow, shovel or throw snow into streets which increases the risk to your neighbors and motorists. Such action is also considered a "public nuisance" and can result in legal proceedings with possible incarceration and/or fines!
For more information, go to www.spokanecounty.org/engineer . The County's website also has two icons on the home page that the public may find useful: "Snow Removal" and "Winter Safety and Preparedness Information."
Privatize It: Reason Saves Cleveland With Drew Carey, Ep. 3 | MBAs ...
Should cities be in the business of running businesses ranging from convention centers to farmer’s markets? Reason Saves Cleveland with Drew Carey is written and produced by Paul Feine; camera and editing by Roger Richards and Alex Manning; narrated by Nick Gillespie; music by the Cleveland band Cats on Holiday. I can’t understand why liberals are so suspicious of free markets where others hold no coercive power over them. Yes, capitalists will try to rip off customers and treat workers like shit when possible, but it’s OUR job to make sure that doesn’t happen! We have tools: direct action, strikes, boycotts and competition to name a few.
It’s convenient and quick to ask for the government to help us, but there comes a time when you can’t walk anymore if you’ve sat in a wheelchair for too long.
@mandi0126 1. This is called the “good king fallacy” – the idea that if you just elect the right folks in, they’ll make things alright. The problem is that elections are few and far between and public servants have way too much on their plates to manage things effectively.
2. You’re mistaken: private actors ARE accountable to you! All you need to do is refuse transaction with them and they’ll lower their prices and improve quality. They can only rip you off if you, the consumer, allow them to.
