, The North American conductor in the design, manufacture and trade of snow and ice control equipment for unsubstantial trucks, today announced economic results for the second region ended June 30, 2010 and provided its prospect for 2010.

Second Quarter Results

Douglas Dynamics' pre-edible sales period is comprised of the damaged and third quarters combined. To advance distributors to receive shipments previous to the peak fourth rooms retail selling seasonable, the Company offers promotional pecuniary and freight terms to distributors that point orders during the second shelter. These orders are then shipped during the bat of an eye and third quarters. The timing of these shipments between the minute and third quarters can vary year to year based upon a mass of factors, including distributor inventory levels and space availability. For 2010, pre-edible orders have shifted from established patterns to be more heavily weighted towards the following quarter versus the third zone.

Net sales were $66.2 million in the back quarter of 2010, representing an 11.1% expand from the corresponding period in 2009. This prolong in net sales reflects stronger utter pre-season orders compared to the late year and the timing of pre-seasonable shipments shifting toward the right hand quarter versus the third casern. This increase in equipment sales was restrictedly offset by an expected shrivelling in parts and accessories sales as distributors prepare for end users shifting their investments from repairing existing appurtenances towards purchasing new equipment.
