Must have for snow!
I finally got a Snow Brum after living in the northeast my whole life. I can't believe I've wasted so much time with a regualr snow brush. And this is a required tool if you have an SUV and hate having 50 pounds of snow slide down your wind shield when ever you hit the brakes. You can clean... -
Great Product
I bought my first one a number of years ago at a chain store and was skeptical but then after using it to push off huge amounts of snow with one sweep I was hooked. The telescoping handle is nice and reaches high over the car. Lots of heavy snow can be removed in a few minutes unlike a snow...

A brilliant young man, Anthony Martino learned the ways of violence and Italian criminals early in life. Always deeply loving with friends and family and brutal with enemies, Martino hates his enemies with a white hot passion. In his part of the world, justice can be found only with a gun, knife, or a bomb. When Martino is asked to give a presentation about organized crime to a college class in the anthracite region of Pennsylvania, he is happy to accept. A former professor, Tony enjoys provoking thoughts and emotions in students. The same day he receives the professor's request, he receives an e-mail message from a member of New York City's most powerful crime family requesting to see him. He also accepts this invitation. When Ernie Valadi, Martino's nemesis from high school, taunts him and accuses him of being a con man, Martino challenges him to a fight. Will this fight be any different from their past entanglements? To what extent will Martino extract his revenge? A deeply religious...

Snowplow, no plow and eCharging
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners turned down a request to purchase a new snowplow truck.
Public Works Director Dave Robley requested authorization to purchase the new truck at Tuesday’s county board meeting. A 2000 Volvo currently being used is up for rotation. The county usually allows the purchase of a new vehicle after 10 years of use.
The cost of Robley’s desired equipment purchase is $175,880. He’d like to add a 2012 International Tandem snowplow truck to the county fleet. The International 7600 SFA 6x4 would come from Maney International at a cost of $106,761. The Volvo’s trade value is $24,000; combine that with taxes and fees and the truck would run $88,195. The Volvo would be put up for auction online.
Snow equipment for the truck – box, hydraulics, snowplow, wing, sander and underbody blade – would come from Towmaster, Inc. out of Litchfield. Cost of the add-ons with tax is $87,684.
Commissioner Norm Salto cited $17,000 a year in depreciation on the Volvo and its mileage, around 200,000 miles, as reasons why the truck did not need to be traded in and a new one purchased at this time.
Le Mars Daily Sentinel: Local News: Road departments stockpiled ...
While we've got several inches less snow than a year ago today, local road crews are already prepared for whatever winter might sling at us.
Le Mars city road crews went out for the first time last Monday to take care of the layer of ice that coated the community.
"I think we used about 25 to 30 tons of salt," said Steve Hansen, public works superintendent.
He said the city's eight plows are ready to go, and so is the 600 tons of salt for the roads.
The city crew has been making sure the trucks are fit to hit the streets along with the city's new snowblower and grader -- both replacements for 20-year-old equipment.
The city crew usually tries to roll out the plows between 2 and 4 a.m. after it snows.
"There are less people out and we can get a lot more done," Hansen said.
He reminded Le Mars residents to park according to odd-even parking for snow clearing.
That means cars should be parked on the even numbered side of the street on even-numbered days, starting at 6 p.m. the night before. On odd-numbered days, cars should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street.
"If it's snowing, make sure your vehicle is on the right side of the street," Hansen said. "That helps us make it through in one pass."
Residents with large rocks or other landscaping near the curb are asked to move those items back so they don't damage city snow removal equipment.
"If I could have a 10-foot clear zone, that would be great," Hansen said.
And when drivers encounter the plows, he urged them to be cautious.
"Give the guys a break. Give them plenty of clearance," Hansen said. "Stay back a ways. Those trucks don't handle quite as quick as cars."
As for county roads, Plymouth County Engineer Tom Rohe said he has gravel and calcium chloride stockpiled at the main Le Mars facility plus four outlying sheds in the county.
"We use those materials and our plow trucks on the paved road system," he said.
All the snow removal on the gravel roads in the...
Used Snow Plows -Read -Before you buy
Are you interested in buying a used snowplow truck? Hey what the heck it could be cheaperthen a new snowplow truck. Maybe? I guess that all depends on what you are going to do with the truckyou are looking at to buy. The first thing, I would have to think about, if I was looking to buy a used snowplow truck, is what am I going to do with it? Will the snow plow truck be used for just my driveway? Could it be used for a residential snowplow account's mainly driveway work?. "Hey" Maybe, you are subcontracted by a municipality for snow removal on major road ways. The answer to this questions is of major importance. OK, for the first application if your plowing just you own driveway an older snowplow truck that is being retired is fine. So,as long as all the major components work proper like the brakes, 4 wd,and the snow plow itself. If you are doing residential work you want thoroughly check out the snowplow truck before buying because now that truck is your reputation. Because, customers, do not like to be informed that their driveway won’t be ready for them to go to work because your truck broke down. So keep that in mind, when you are looking for a used snow plow truck that's for sale. You have to check out all the major components. Also run the plow makes sure everything works as it is supposed to. The other thing to think about is the brand of the truck you buy. Yes that’s right. Do not buy a snowplow truck that is a special model, because, when you need to get a part for it, you could have to wait a few days, specialty parts usually are not in stock. Remember the auto parts stores stock what sells best not what doesn’t. The next thing to consider if you are subcontracted by a municipality. The work is not start and stop type of plowing, the workis usually continuous plowing on town road ways. They will usually give you a certain section in your town to plow. When you are looking at snowplows for sale, you again want to keep this in mind. The plow size...
