Must have for snow!
I finally got a Snow Brum after living in the northeast my whole life. I can't believe I've wasted so much time with a regualr snow brush. And this is a required tool if you have an SUV and hate having 50 pounds of snow slide down your wind shield when ever you hit the brakes. You can clean... -
Great Product
I bought my first one a number of years ago at a chain store and was skeptical but then after using it to push off huge amounts of snow with one sweep I was hooked. The telescoping handle is nice and reaches high over the car. Lots of heavy snow can be removed in a few minutes unlike a snow...

I live in the chicago suburbs. Over this winter a lot of salty snow has ended up on my lawn. What can I do to condition the lawn to help assure that I will have green grass again?
I am originally from southern Ontario where we use a lot of salt and sand in the winter.
Make sure you thoroughly soak the area of the lawn where the salt/sand build-up was, to dilute the salt and wash away the sand.

City Lifts Stage 2 Snow Emergency; Full City Plow Complete
SPOKANE, Wash. - The City of Spokane has lifted its Stage 2 Snow Emergency as of 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, and is returning to regular winter operations. A full City plow has been completed with the exception of Browne's Addition, which is scheduled for plowing on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan 24 and 25.
Street crews completed the full-City plow in less than three days with the help of private contractors, who are being released. It is possible that crews may have missed blocks. Citizens should call 625-7733 to report an unplowed section.
For the rest of the day, the City will use de-icers and sanders to deal with icy spots in the arterials. They also will work downtown to spread the center snow berms and add de-icer to encourage melting. Earlier, crews plowed the snow to the center of the street in downtown to maintain on-street parking. Motorists should not attempt to cross the berms; they will get stuck.
More snow, 1 to 3 inches, is in the forecast for tonight. Under regular winter operations, crews will begin plowing in the arterials again as soon as there is enough snow accumulation to plow. They will also de-ice and sand as needed.

North Dakota Department of Transportation snow plows are done plowing for the night, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
A travel alert also has been extended to include the Devils Lake area and also remains in effect for western, central and south eastern portions of North Dakota through Saturday morning.
NDDOT snow plows have been working since early morning hours and throughout the day, therefore snow plows have been pulled from the roads. The plows will resume operation early Saturday morning.
Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but should be advised that heavy snow continues to accumulate in the passing lane of four-lane highways and rural two-lane roads. Motorists should be advised of reduced visibility when meeting and passing vehicles and are encouraged to reduce speeds.
Cities affected by the Travel Alert include: Williston, Dickinson, Minot, Bismarck, Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo, Wahpeton and surrounding areas.
As heavy snow continues, roads have the potential to become snow covered with compacted snow creating icy conditions.

A Spokane Valley car dealership said Friday that it will end a longstanding practice of dumping parking lot snow on nearby county park land.
