Better tools available
I read in a number of places after I got this tool that there are better wheel hoes available. Elliot Coleman for one recommends one that fits the description of the Glaser Wheel Hoe exactly. First of all because of the way the tools mount on this one it does an inefficient job of transfering the... -

The shipping box was torn, but all the parts where in the box. It was easy to build once I related the parts to the picture. The cultivator functions as described. It quickly removes small weeds, turns the soft earth and I get the exercise my doctor recommends. I am satisfied with this product.

I want to plow and till up some land (okay, about an acre of land), and I HATE using gas-powered stuff. I don't drive cars, I use a push lawnmower (mowing a tree-lined acre with a push mower is punishing), I just hate using gas.
Oxen, Water Buffalo, Horses, Mules are all still used in some countries. Slaves were even used in much earlier days.
driveway is gravel, im thinking the quad/plow will be quicker but worry that might run out of room to keep pushing the snow? and we have lots of snow up here...
I live in upstate New York and have a tractor with a snow blower. If you set the height right, it works awesome. Some gravel will get in but it shoots right out.
i have a craftsman LT 2000. i live in Maryland and we just had like 2 feet of snow and i had to plow it myself the old fashion way..... i want to go Sears and buy a 14inch snow plow but....is my 19.5 hp w/the plow going to be able to push it?
It will depend on the depth of the snow. If the snow is 2 feet again, odds are that you may have to take only 1/2 width passes, but still better than shoveling...

Robo-signing delays push U.S. foreclosure filings to lowest level since 2007
National foreclosure filings plummeted in 2011 to their lowest level since 2007, according to a report released today by RealtyTrac. However, the correlation between the data and the aftermath of the robo-signing controversy are clear, as the average U.S. foreclosure now takes 348 days to process, according to the report, and 1,019 days in New York.
About 1.9 million U.S. properties received foreclosure filings for the year, down 34 percent from 2010. One out of 69 housing units, or 1.45 percent had at least one foreclosure filing for the year, down from 2.23 percent in 2010. Each figure marks the lowest recorded since 2007.
A report released yesterday by PropertyShark.com concerning only New York City, found a similar drop in foreclosure filings for the region. RealtyTrac showed New York State had the nation’s sixth lowest foreclosure rate in 2011 at one in every 307 properties, or 0.33 percent of homes. That represents a decline of 40.6 percent from 2010.
ATV Snow Plowing | ATV Camping Blog
ATV Snow Plowing is a great way to clear a driveway of the cold, white slippery stuff. It is also a great way to justify the purchase of an ATV to your spouse. Done right, ATV snow plowing can save a lot of back-breaking, tedious snow shoveling.
I have a fairly long driveway and before I had the ATV Plow it took several hours to shovel and I was toast for the rest of the day. Now with my ATV I am done in about 30 – 45 minutes. Then I am off to the neighbors and I plow their driveway. Then I plow the road, it’s not work, it’s fun!
To plow snow properly you need a good utility 4×4 ATV preferably 500cc or larger with good tires or tire chains. Then you will need the ATV plow system which usually consists of a plow blade, push tubes, plow mount (specific to your ATV), and a lifting mechanism.
The lifting mechanism can be an ATV winch, an electric or hydraulic cylinder or a manual lifting mechanism. Due to its versatility an ATV winch is the most popular lifting mechanism. Once the plow mount has been installed on your ATV, connecting and disconnecting the push tubes and plow blade take only a few minutes.
Most push tubes allow for multiple blade angles and pitch adjustments. Once you have your ATV plow system completely installed you are ready to start moving snow. I have put together some tips to help you make the most of your ATV plow when clearing a driveway:
Before you start plowing ensure the plow is installed correctly and the all mounting hardware is tight. Start by clearing the area in front of the garage door. This technique is called Backdragging. Position the angle of the blade to the straight position (no angle). Raise the blade and drive forward to the garage door. Lower the blade, then back up while pulling the snow away from the house. You should backdrag only two or three ATV lengths. Repeat this operation for the length...National Repo Depot PLOW & WINCH SALE! - ArcticChat.com - Arctic ...
When choosing a blade please know that you lose 4" on your plow lane when you fully angle your plow blade. (EX: A 50" blade fully angled plows a 46" path). Please measure the outside width of your front tires, I want to make sure the blade you want is at least 4" wider than the width you measure or plowing with an ATV / UTV is not any fun or worth it! The farther the blade sticks out on the side the easier it is to plow because your not leaning outside your ATV trying to see where your blade is when plowing close to buildings or various structures.
