Not that bad!
I've had one of these plows on my Yard Man Autodrive 17 HP tractor since 2000. I've worked its buns off and now need another one. Yeah, if you wait until you have 10" of heavy wet snow on the ground, you better get out the two-stage 4 stroke snow blower! But if you have a reasonable approach to... -
Yep! Parts Were Missing!
I bought this snowplow because I had one like it many years back. That old one pushed a lot of snow! I sold my old tractor and blade. I decided to get another one for my newer garden tractor. I read the reviews and noticed a few people said that their plows arrived short some parts. I bet...

I have a murray lawn tractor that I picked up used, it came with the snow blade attachment but I have no idea on how to attach it. I am sure I need to take the 38" deck off first but other than that I am lost.
If it's like the ones Sears sold, it slides on the front, bolts onto each side of the frame..
The Sears units fit on with the deck in place...

Have a MTD yard machine 800 series 1996. Need to find a manual for the snow blade part no. 190-840 .I cant figure out exactly how to hook it up. I already have a parts list diagram for the snow blade but it still doesn't really show how it should...
You can look it up on MTD's own site. But you'll also need your own serial number:

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Snowblade is the trademark name of Salomon's little "skis." They are about half the length of standard alpine skis and a bit wider. Snowbladers generally take up the activity as an alternative to alpine skiing. Because they are so short, snowblades can be transported and used very easily and flexibly, and carving with them is nearly automatic. They appeal in a semi-cultesque way to individuals of various ages and backgrounds, as was the case with snowboards, when they made their first appearances on ski slopes decades ago.
The U.S.S.R. now produces powerful snow plows which stand idle seven to eight months of the year. The author urges production of attachable snow plows like the ones manufactured abroad. He also gives tested data as to the materials for production of snow blades and their sizes.

First snowstorm of the season draws plows, salt and crashes
The area’s long-awaited first significant snowstorm of the area hit Thursday morning, and its impacts were expected to be felt Friday morning.
Between 3 and 8 inches of the white stuff was expected to accumulate across the region, with wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph, before trickling off overnight.
In light of weather conditions predicted for overnight, school was to be delayed by two hours Friday in Community Unit School District 300 “to help ensure the safe delivery of children to school,” Superintendent Michael Bregy said in a message sent Thursday evening to families.
“Classes will end at their normal time,” Bregy’s message said. “Because of the transportation requirements of a delayed start, all half-day programs are cancelled for kindergarten and preschool.”
Conditions Thursday afternoon were such that School District U46 spokesman Tony Sanders said the Elgin district was not canceling after-school activities “as a district.” The U46 Advisory Committee had called off its Thursday meeting, however, and many schools individually had canceled activities and notified parents.
Choosing a Snow Blade: Poly or Steel « ProMark Offroad Blog
When it comes to choosing a snow blade for your ATV / UTV plow, you have two basic options for the type of construction: poly or steel. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Let’s take a look at some of the differences between poly and steel plows.
Poly ATV Snow BladePoly snow blades are fairly new to the ATV plow world, yet they have distinct advantages. For one, they are quieter than steel blades and easier on driveway surfaces. If you are plowing pavers or a decorative surface, or if you don’t want to mark up your driveway, a poly blade is your best option.
What about the argument that poly blades are not as durable as steel blades? Although this may be true of certain types of poly blades, the Cycle Country X-Force poly snow blade uses Rib-Flex technology for a blade that’s virtually indestructible. It has the same life expectancy as a steel blade.
Another advantage of the X-Force poly blade is that it’s lighter than steel plows. Unlike other poly plows that are paired with steel frames for a heavier weight than an all-steel plow, the X-Force is all plastic for a lightweight, high strength blade and frame.
Steel ATV Snow BladeSteel snow blades have a long history of reliability in the plowing world. They are known to hold up under rough conditions and accidental abuse. Compared with most traditional poly plows (not including the X-Force by Cycle Country), steel plows are lighter in weight.
It’s also much easier to add plow wings to a steel blade than a poly blade. Plow wings increase efficiency by as much as 35 to 40 percent and cut down significantly on plowing time.
Case 54" snow blade
There are so many, many things that affect the price of blades, it isn't even funny. I've seen blades on C/L sell for $35.00 because it's a local sale and the person just wanted the blade gone from their garage. I've seen blades bring more than $400.00 on e-bay. Time of year, location, condition, number of people seeking one on that day........ all these things will affect the final selling price.
