Fair Lawn announces snow removal, salting procedures

Once it starts to snow, the borough's road department will dispatch salt trucks to begin salting county roads and the designated emergency snow routes. After these roads are safe and passable, the secondary roads will be salted, if it is deemed necessary. This decision will be made based upon continuing weather conditions.

Roads will be plowed with county roads and designated snow emergency routes first. It will be followed by emergency service buildings, secondary roads and borough parking lots. County roads include Saddle River Road, River Road, Harristown Road and Fair Lawn , Morlot, Lincoln, Maple and Midland avenues. Emergency snow routes include 11th, 12th, 17th, Orchard, Phillip, Prospect and Rosalie streets, Berkshire, Plaza and Radburn roads, Fair Lawn Parkway, Heights, Berdan and Hopper avenues, Henderson Boulevard, and Sunnyside Drive.

Each snow plow has been assigned a section to plow and remain in that section until all roadways have been sufficiently cleared. This may require the snowplow vehicle to make multiple passes on each street. Borough snow removal vehicles will plow each street curb to curb during each snowfall. On occasion, due to the lack of areas between the sidewalk and curb, sidewalks and driveway aprons may become covered with snow. Borough snow removal vehicles will not remove snow from any sidewalk or driveway apron.

Thanks to the Homies! It just snowed about a foot here and i got high centered trying to get to school… so….. I…. raised it… =(. Its that snow that builds up in the middle of the lane that gets me.

However its coming back down tonight! Roads are plowed enought to make to places. Lets beat the streets!!!!

A WRX from the factory isnt a rally car. its a turbo AWD that has the ability to be rallied SHOULD THE OWNER CHOOSE TO DO THAT.

A Lexus GS300 is supposed to be a luxury, kind of sporty family car, but people drift those.

the AE86 is supposed to be a somewhat sporty econo-box, yet people drift, grip, drop, AND rally those.

A VW beetle is just that. Yet those cars make great rally cars, and even drag cars.

VW Golf are actually quite potent vehicles if they are built to do that.

Some people just prefer looks over preformance, and some people prefer preformance over looks.

Just because preformance is top priority on your list, doesnt mean its everyones priority.

That’s why I politely said, “Personally, I wouldn’t lower a rally car.” I could have been a douche about it, but I was just giving my opinion. I don’t get on this site because it’s personally not my thing, but a friend posted this somewhere and I felt like chiming in. Plenty of my friends are into VWs, stance, and form > function, and I always say to each his own.

Also, snow filling the air damn blocks air from getting to the radiator which results in overheating.

Road closure/snow plow information | KIDK CBS 3 - News, Weather ...

The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes have closed all east-west roads on the Fort Hall Reservation due to the inability of roads maintenance personnel to keep up with drifting snow over roadways. The closure includes Ferry Butte Road in Bingham County. North-south roads remain open, but whiteout conditions exist. Tribal roads personnel are focusing on keeping roads passable for those needing to travel due to medical conditions. Emergency travel needs should be reported to the Fort Hall Police Dispatch at 478-4000 or 238-4000. The Bingham County Sheriff has advised that due to the high winds and drifting, the roads in Bingham County have been closed unless there is an emergency. The roads will be closed until the Bingham County Road and Bridge can successfully plow all of the main thoroughfares. The Bingham County Court House has also been closed for the day.
