Not that bad!
I've had one of these plows on my Yard Man Autodrive 17 HP tractor since 2000. I've worked its buns off and now need another one. Yeah, if you wait until you have 10" of heavy wet snow on the ground, you better get out the two-stage 4 stroke snow blower! But if you have a reasonable approach to... -
Yep! Parts Were Missing!
I bought this snowplow because I had one like it many years back. That old one pushed a lot of snow! I sold my old tractor and blade. I decided to get another one for my newer garden tractor. I read the reviews and noticed a few people said that their plows arrived short some parts. I bet...

Winter Driving and Snow Removal Tips
• Clear sidewalks near their businesses or homes. Herndon DPW doesn't remove snow from sidewalks unless they are near schools or critical road crossings. Don't block storm drains or fire hydrants.
During storms the Department of Public Works Operations Center is manned continuously. DPW may be reached at 703-435-6860. Police dispatch is available 24 hours a day by calling 703-435-6846.
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has some safety tips for area residents as well.
Drivers should have emergency kits in their car. Kits should include jumper cables, a blanket, warm clothes such as gloves, hats, boots and scarves, an ice scraper, a first-aid kit, water and nonperishable snacks, a flashlight, a basic tool kit, extra washer fluid and a couple extra quarts of oil.
According to VDOT, residents should try to stay off roads if possible when temperatures are below 32 degrees. If roads are wet ice patches are possible on bridges and curves. Drivers should also avoid using cruise control in winter conditions. VDOT urges drivers to keep a safe distance behind other vehicles and trucks that are plowing roads.
Snow burdening City's wallet - BONJOUR L'ESTONIE
Tallinn's phone lines – which, among other things provide information about availability of hydraulic lifts for removing dangerous icicles – have been flooded with calls.
Municipality governments elsewhere in Estonia are also in trouble because of a very snowy winter last year. Many municipalities are forced to borrow from next year's budget and are hoping for less snow next year.
Weather forecasts are predicting more blizzards to come.
Clout St: Chicago gearing up for snow removal
At 12:55 p.m.
Mayor Richard Daley might not be running for re-election, but he says that'll have no bearing on how his administration prepares for snow removal this winter.
The city will continue with efforts to hold down the overtime paid to snow plow drivers, and to use sensors on trucks and red light cameras to better control how much salt trucks are dumping on the streets during snowfalls, Daley told reporters today at his annual news conference to mark the beginning of city overnight winter parking restrictions.
"One time, they used to dump salt on the street, as much as they wanted," Daley said at the city's 911 center, where he was joined by several department heads. "Now, we have a system to find out how much salt they're putting down."Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Thomas Byrne said long-range forecasts call for above-normal winter temperatures in the area, leading to "heavy and wet snow" in Chicago.
Byrne pointed to the storm that dumped more than nine inches of snow on Minneapolis two weeks ago. "I presume that will be the same outlook that we're looking for here," Byrne said. Beginning at 3 a.m. Wednesday, winter parking restrictions take effect on 107 miles of Chicago streets the city has identified as critical arteries that must be quickly cleared when it snows. Cars parked on these streets between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. until April 1 can be ticketed and towed.
Snow is always a big topic in Chicago and holds a well-known place in the city's political history. Michael Bilandic, who succeeded Richard J. Daley as mayor, lost an election in 1979 after botching a big snowfall.
About Clout Clout has a special meaning in Chicago, where it can be a noun, a verb or an adjective. This exercise of political influence in a uniquely Chicago style was chronicled in the Tribune cartoon "Clout Street" in the early 1980s. Clout Street, the blog, offers an inside look...News
