Must have for snow!
I finally got a Snow Brum after living in the northeast my whole life. I can't believe I've wasted so much time with a regualr snow brush. And this is a required tool if you have an SUV and hate having 50 pounds of snow slide down your wind shield when ever you hit the brakes. You can clean... -
Great Product
I bought my first one a number of years ago at a chain store and was skeptical but then after using it to push off huge amounts of snow with one sweep I was hooked. The telescoping handle is nice and reaches high over the car. Lots of heavy snow can be removed in a few minutes unlike a snow...

Less snow, but crews write up more parking tickets in Rockford
ROCKFORD — If you got a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street during a snow emergency last month, you are far from alone.
The City Council gave Public Works employees the authority to write snow emergency parking tickets in early 2011, but the effect of that decision hasn’t been seen until now because of the region’s lack of snowfall this season.
And while this year’s snow cover is nothing compared with last year’s, the city’s Public Works Department has issued more than double the number of tickets for violating the odd/even parking ordinance. The tickets carry a $50 fine.
To give you an idea of what that means in dollars and cents:
The department issued 457 tickets during five snow removal operations in winter 2010-11. If they all were paid, it would amount to $22,850 in additional revenue for the city.
This winter, with only three snow removal operations, that number has gone up to 982 tickets, or $49,100.
Winter's First Snowstorm Approaches, Snowplows Ready ...
Here comes Suzy Snowflake Chicago.
The Windy City is bracing for it’s first big snowstorm of the cold weather season.
The general Chicagoland area is predicted to get 4-8″ over the next 24 hours.
The good news is, the snow is falling over the weekend and not during the work week. Without the heavy work week traffic and rush hours to contend with, snow plows should be able to clear highways, tollways and main roadways sooner than later.
In Chicago and other municipalities, this translates into faster snow removal for side streets and in general clearer and safer driving.
According to multiple media outlets both Streets & Sanitation snowplows and IDOT snowplows are loaded with salt and ready to take to the streets as soon as the first flakes hit the ground.
Chicago’s 2″ snow ban will probably not be invoked for this storm. While the snow accumulation is going to be significant and over an extended period of time, plows will probably have snow removal under control and therefore the ban will not have to be announced.
The 2″ snow ban has not been invoked by the City of Chicago in a number of years.
Drive safe this weekend.

North Dakota Department of Transportation snow plows are done plowing for the night, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
A travel alert also has been extended to include the Devils Lake area and also remains in effect for western, central and south eastern portions of North Dakota through Saturday morning.
NDDOT snow plows have been working since early morning hours and throughout the day, therefore snow plows have been pulled from the roads. The plows will resume operation early Saturday morning.
Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but should be advised that heavy snow continues to accumulate in the passing lane of four-lane highways and rural two-lane roads. Motorists should be advised of reduced visibility when meeting and passing vehicles and are encouraged to reduce speeds.
Cities affected by the Travel Alert include: Williston, Dickinson, Minot, Bismarck, Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo, Wahpeton and surrounding areas.
As heavy snow continues, roads have the potential to become snow covered with compacted snow creating icy conditions.
