Must have for snow!
I finally got a Snow Brum after living in the northeast my whole life. I can't believe I've wasted so much time with a regualr snow brush. And this is a required tool if you have an SUV and hate having 50 pounds of snow slide down your wind shield when ever you hit the brakes. You can clean... -
Great Product
I bought my first one a number of years ago at a chain store and was skeptical but then after using it to push off huge amounts of snow with one sweep I was hooked. The telescoping handle is nice and reaches high over the car. Lots of heavy snow can be removed in a few minutes unlike a snow...

Snow parking FAQ
What is the odd/even parking ordinance? Rockford’s odd/even parking ordinance is in effect whenever the city declares a snow emergency, during which parking citywide is limited to one side of the street. On even-numbered days, parking is permitted on the even side of the street where the addresses end in an even number — 0, 2, 4, 6, 8. On odd-numbered days, parking is permitted on the odd side of the street where addresses end in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. The deadline to switch from one side of the street to the other is 8 a.m.
Why does the city have the ordinance? Having vehicles parked only on one side leaves room for plows to travel the street.
How much are the tickets? $50
What if I disagree with getting a ticket? You can appeal through a hearing process.
How do I know that a snow emergency is in effect? The city issues notices announcing the beginning and end
Winter's First Snowstorm Approaches, Snowplows Ready ...
Here comes Suzy Snowflake Chicago.
The Windy City is bracing for it’s first big snowstorm of the cold weather season.
The general Chicagoland area is predicted to get 4-8″ over the next 24 hours.
The good news is, the snow is falling over the weekend and not during the work week. Without the heavy work week traffic and rush hours to contend with, snow plows should be able to clear highways, tollways and main roadways sooner than later.
In Chicago and other municipalities, this translates into faster snow removal for side streets and in general clearer and safer driving.
According to multiple media outlets both Streets & Sanitation snowplows and IDOT snowplows are loaded with salt and ready to take to the streets as soon as the first flakes hit the ground.
Chicago’s 2″ snow ban will probably not be invoked for this storm. While the snow accumulation is going to be significant and over an extended period of time, plows will probably have snow removal under control and therefore the ban will not have to be announced.
The 2″ snow ban has not been invoked by the City of Chicago in a number of years.
Drive safe this weekend.
