Excellent Snow Remover!
Although we haven't used the snowmover at all this year (no snow!), it got heavy usage last winter. It excelled at moving heavy, wet snow off the top of my SUV, and I could reach the entire top from one side because the handle extends. Even fully extended, the snowmover is strong enough to move...

VDOT Helps the Neighbors Track Snow Plowing
The next time is snows more than 2 inches you can track VDOT snowplows on your computer.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is currently testing the online tool, Governor Bob McDonnell announced Wednesday in a press release.
Once it snows at least two inches, residents can find out the status of plowing in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William county neighborhoods here .
Users can monitor whether crews have started plowing a particular “snow map” region on the county grid. Northern Virginia streets are divided into 600 snow maps, so while street-by-street progress is not shown, residents can see what neighborhoods have been plowed.
Green indicates a neighborhood has been plowed, Yellow means plows are in progress in the neighborhood, Blue indicates plows have not yet started the neighborhood; and, Gray means the area is not maintained by VDOT. When the snow falls, it may take longer for roads to be cleared. Recent budget cuts have left Kankakee County with only 15 snowplow drivers -- five fewer than it had in 2008.
How that will play out with an 80 percent chance of snow showers forecast for tonight and into the weekend is still unclear, said Jim Piekarczyk, Kankakee County highway engineer.
After losing a driver earlier this year, Piekarczyk was already facing a reduced staff of 18 drivers. But when the early retirement option was offered last month to help plug the county's bulging deficit, three of the department's "most experienced drivers" stepped down as well. And then there were 15.
The good news is that during short snowstorms -- such as the ones expected tonight and Saturday -- the roads should be maintained as usual.
