ergonomic, efficient and effective at moving snow
The version of the product that I am reviewing has a plastic head/scoop/blade, with a metal edge along the mouth of the scoop, matching the photo of the product shown on the Amazon product page. This product saw its debut on 12-27-10 when my driveway/sidewalk (in NJ) and most of the northeast... -
Love the design, not sure about the wear strip
I just bought one and used it on my driveway and sidewalk tonight. Overall, I was very impressed with the design. I "pushed" most of the snow and lifted very little of it. Compared to other shovels I used, I love this one. My back is thanking me. Like the other reviewers, I also found that it...

When the mailbox is damaged by snowplow -- improvise!
It's an unusual mailbox -- a Tidy Cats Litter box strapped to a post -- but it will stay for the rest of the winter.
Barbara Leppo of Dover Township said a snowplow knocked their mailbox off the post during the storm last week.
She and her husband, Art, brainstormed what they could put up until they repair and repaint their damaged mailbox.
That's when he mentioned all the kitty litter containers they had lying around. It's the right size. It has a lid that opens. And it's sealed.
The couple asked their mail carrier if they could put it up, and she told them she didn't have a problem with it, Barbara Leppo said.
The couple used bungee cords to secure the box to the post.
"It looks ridiculous," Barbara Leppo said, but added, "it works, and it's a good way to recycle."
They plan to keep it there all winter.
The Leppos and anyone else in York County won't have to worry about snowplow damage anytime soon. At this point, the forecast doesn't call for any snow through
