It seems like I am just running along over the furrows trying to keep up with the mule.
I have to rest at the end of every furrow (or sooner). My grampa says I should just be more careful and work faster.
You are a rare breed! I used a mule to skid timber back in the early 70's. It's very hard work. I found the trick was to let the mule do the work....don't get in a hurry and always use the same commands. One thing I learned.....
Ted from Everything Attachments demonstrates using a potato plow to harvest potatos, or you could also use for a furrowing attachment.
check out the swap sheet or trader magazine or ebay, their should be plenty around, hopefully the snow isn't that bad for you's, but your grass is always growing.
im doing a project about the invention of john deere's steel plow.
how is it use? i have to put a description.
thanks!
You would hook it to the back of the tractor. It would connect to a mechanism called the three point hitch. the three point hitch would raise and lower the plow into the ground hydraulically as you drive along.

Steuben Legislature considers new plowing plan
A plan to pay towns less to plow some Steuben County roads is likely to draw some opposition when the county Legislature meets Monday 10 a.m.
County Public Works Commissioner Vince Spagnoletti said the department plans to lower the per-mile rate it pays 12 municipal highway plow crews by $700 next winter. The drop means the towns would be paid $4,000 per mile to plow instead of the $4,700 per mile in the current county contract.
Spagnoletti said he made the decision to reduce the rates after department staff reported it costs the county about $3,500-$3,600 per mile to plow roads. The new three-year contract for a total of 152 miles also includes adjustment increases for fuel and salt, and raises the rate by $100 in 2013 and 2014.
Reducing the rate will save Steuben more than $106,000 next year , Spagnoletti said.
“It’s a hit for the towns, there’s no question about it,” Spagnoletti said. “But I’m talking about what it costs us. If the towns decide no way, it’s not worth their while, we’ll pick up those roads.”
