Well worth feeling a little silly
Today's 8" storm officially heralded in my second season using the Wovel, and I was reminded exactly how remarkable this silly-looking contraption is.My house is one of four homes on a very small private street. Since we're responsible for our own snow removal, we co-own a large snow blower and... -
Better than a snow blower
Pros:The Wovel makes for fast, easy and efficient removal of snow. I can clear my drive faster with the Wovel than my neighbors can using their snow blowers (and it seems that they work harder trying, wrestling their snow blowers!). The folding design of the Sno Wovel is wonderful! It only takes...

CORONA: Foothill Parkway extension project delayed
In an effort to push a much-delayed Corona road extension project forward, city officials may temporarily downsize it.
Corona planning officials are in the final stages this month of acquiring land for the 2-mile Foothill Parkway extension project that would connect Skyline Drive and Paseo Grande from south Corona to Sierra del Oro.
The project has been envisioned since the mid-1980s, but has been postponed repeatedly because of a lack of funding.

It’s not clear if the city will get funding for the project from the Riverside County Transportation Commission, said Clint Herrera, Corona senior civil engineer and project manager.
This month, the city began the final stages of acquiring property for the project, using eminent domain for several easements. Construction does not require relocating residents or businesses from the residential area, Herrera said.
Stay Safe While Shoveling Snow | Charles & Hudson

Yes, we said it -- the dreaded s-word! As snow begins to fall in parts of the country, it's time to think about stocking up on winter supplies and that most dreaded of chores -- shoveling snow!
Shoveling snow is not easy work, especially if you're trying to move a heavy, damp snow as opposed to a more fluffy variety. Roy Berendsohn, a writer for Popular Mechanics To avoid back and other injuries, maintain proper posture while shoveling. Roy recommends using "your leg muscles as much as possible. Keep your back straight when you move from a squat to upright position. Use your shoulder muscles as much as possible. Hold the shovel as close to your upper body as possible. Keep one hand close to the blade for better leverage. Don't twist your upper body as you throw snow."
+ Start early, shovel often It may seem counterintuitive to shovel several times, but if your area is expected to receive a heavy snowfall, it's much easier to remove the snow in several lighter stages than to try to shovel a heavy accumulation in one pass. Keep an eye on the snowfall, and as it starts to build, head outside for a quick scrape over the driveway or other surface.

Preparations are important when you get ready to exit the comfort of your home and enter the cold outside to shovel snow. Always dress warmly and make sure to pay special attention to your extremities. Keep your ears, feet, hands and your nose warm and you will feel comfortable on the rest of your body.
Every year you hear how someone died in your town because of shoveling snow outside his home. It can not be stressed enough that one should never attempt to shovel if they are out of shape. The task is difficult enough for someone who takes care of their health and body but becomes down right disastrous for those who are drastically out of shape. Avoid the task if you have a history of any sort of heart trouble or difficulties breathing. Those with COPD and other respiratory diseases should consult with your doctor first.
