If your asking its a honourable bet that you should do it asap. A good rule of thumb is anything over a foot. Based on the distilled water content of the snow you may have to do it earlier. A light snow, perchance longer. But if its a heavy snow i.e. you can make snowballs. Do it before it becomes more than a foot thick. Make peace sure to wear a heavily treaded boots and attach yourself with a rope to something like you chimney. If you cannot pin yourself, at a minimum have someone stand outside and keep an eye on you "decent in case".

Yes you can. A safer way to disconnect snow is with a snow rake that will not dig into the roof since you pull it rather than push.

I am worrisome to spend less money on the cable itself. the gutter cables are the same wattage per linear foot and the same volts and payment a lot less than the cables they sell specically for snow melting on driveways and sidewalks. I yearning to know what the difference is exactly in these cables and why i can't use the gutter roof cables in the bond instead. is it just that they want to realize more money? please help. thanks. also unfortified to any cheap methods of embed some congenial of heat element in the cement so i don't have to shovel snow this winter in my new on. thanks.

If you have a hot water heat system you could embed memorable plastic tubing in the cement and run a eye from the furnace to warm the cement.
This is not something that is effortlessly done and should be left to the professionals to install a obedient reliable system that will last for a long time.

I am getting conflicting admonish on removing snow from the roof of my house. Some have told me that the snow creates too much intimidation for the roof and must be removed. This sounds reasonable because in Minnesota we can acumulate up to 3 feet of snow on the roofs over the winter. Others have told me that removing the snow also removes a layer of insulation that the snow creates by being there. This also seem plausible and I would hate to have to spend more dough heating this proper cause its expensive!!
What do you think retreat it or start shoveling?

Louring snow may have to be removed from a roof to keep it from collapsing.
The remover of the snow is also a favourable candidate for a trip to the emergency latitude.
Be careful if you decide you need to do this.

Purge the snow, as soon as humanly possible. The gamble of an expensive and dangerous roof collapse should compensate for the dubious benefits of 'extra insulation'.

We have a lot of snow and ice on our roof--about 4 feet of snow and 2 inches of ice at the post. I've tried shovelling it, hoping it would proper slide off, but no. The ice is frozen around the screw heads and it won't budge. Is there an easier way of doing this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
There's nothing you can safely do. My prompting for next year is that you put a tarp over the roof before the snow falls. That keep the ice from adhering to the metal and protects it from the dormant of rusting.

do you have heaters you can aim towards the roof or put in the attic (and keep watch over over them) heat rises and will melt the snow from the bottom...other astute...use your water heaters water...there should be a faucet on the front of the Facetious Adam's ale heater...put a hose on it, use gloves and squirt the water at the roof, from the TOP down...(they underwrite you empty your water heater once a year anyway to non-radioactive out the 'stuff' in the bottom of the tank.)

Please do not put yourself in threat. Your roof will be fine. Let the snow and ice stay until it melts really. Your tin roof is a lightweight roof so do not worry about snow build-up. Also if the snow weight wont slide off now, that is good too. You dont have trouble for it to fall off during thaw. It should just vanish as nature intended.
