Good product. Unforgiving design.
After shopping for a garage ceiling storage system, I purchased this device. I was attracted to the ability to raise and lower the platform to load and unload items. This avoids the obvious pitfalls of using a ladder to hoist large or heavy items up from the ground. In summary, I am reasonably... -

I just finished my install today. Plan on at least 4 hours for this project. The joist do not have to be EXACTLY 48" as other reivews stated. That is the MOST the distance can be. You can be as close as 46 1/2. There is play in the bar that attaches the two ends. Here's my contribution to...

We just bought a snow blower and don't want it to get stolen. We have a shed in the back but there is no lock on it. Is it ok to store in our house, in a back hall that the upstairs lady smokes in on a daily basis? Would it be better to store...
If you don't mind an exploding house, then by all means store your gas filled snow blower in the back hall.
Are you just nuts? Put it in the shed and buy a lock for the snowblower, and one for the shed.
and $1000.,Any suggestions on brand and size and quality.
I ve had good luck w/ my Craftsman . If you need one for small general use, a 2 cycle 1 stage may soot your needs. 22/24" are easy to handle , light weight and start easy. Some come w/ and elctric plug in for electric start. Now if you have a
They are both 99's and the both have 500 hours on them and 52 or 54 inch decks. I have to cut 2 1/2 acres of grass and buy a snow blower as my driveway is almost 400 feet. Any opinions would be appreciated. Also does $3,000 sound reasonable?
They are equally good machines. Find out about availability of snowblowers for tractors that old. Then look at the overall condition of each one. Which brand has a better dealer near you? Then decide which is the better choice for you.

Our View: Snowless winter could mean dry summer
Finally, it's safe, we think, to put away the snowblower. And no doubt many on the North Shore are marveling over how little use they made of the machine this past winter.
Many say they used it once or twice, some have observed it never came out of the garage. But now we learn there's a downside to that lack of snow, which could come in the form of drought warnings and water bans as early as May.
The flow of water in the Ipswich River at key checkpoints such as the Willowdale Dam on the Hamilton-Ipswich line and in South Middleton, is at a distressingly low level. The problem: Lack of snow this winter; lack of rain this spring.
There's been no melting snow to replenish local rivers and streams, and little rain, which has heightened the risk of brush fires in the region.
According to the Middleton Stream Team, total precipitation in March was 1.60 inches as compared to a 30-year average of 3.88 inches for the month. And the difference in February was even more stark — 0.85 inches vs. a 30-year average of 3.22 inches. The flow of water at the Willowdale Dam as of last week was at the lowest level seen in the 80 years they've been taking measurements there.
