I don't think a 110-Volt, 13-Amp thrower would be adequate for the snowfalls we get.

How do they compare to manual controls and do they freeze up or short out in certain weather conditions?
I have manual controls and have never found them difficult to use. I am not sure I would ever get a snow blower with electric controls for fear that they would fail and leave me with nothing workable.
