Danger Underground? PG&E Gas Lines Investigated

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) -- A KCRA investigation is exposing thousands of gas leaks in Northern California.

A whistle-blower told KCRA that the underground lines bringing natural gas to houses could be leaking. And it's a problem Pacific Gas & Electric knows about and admits it has to fix.

Ken Myers' job is to find gas leaks for PG&E -- and he's found many.

Myers took KCRA through some of the neighborhoods where he discovered the leaks.

In one, he spotted a series of holes, about an inch in diameter, punched into the concrete of a Sacramento driveway.

"Somebody had to find some gas readings to do this, or they wouldn't have done it," said Myers, pointing out the row of holes.

Myers said the holes go down a few feet to the gas pipe, which is leaking.

Crews would put a probe in the hole to try and gauge just how much gas is coming out of the pipe.

Advantages and disadvantages of using leaf blowers | Gas Blower Review

Leaf blowers are more common in families, as they seem to save time in the garden in autumn. There are many types of leaf blowers. devices for electric leaf blower hand held to work on electricity and has a cord and plug. The fans are easy to use, typically weigh seven pounds or less, start with a button and produce no emissions, due to electrical appliances. However, they restrict the mobility and a few rays of the line because they have. Some people prefer gas electric fans, because they allow mobility in their properties.

Handheld Hand-gas blowers are very popular in the households. They work with the gas and the cable started by you. The process is similar to that used for lawnmowers. However, it can be difficult, as they weigh up to 12 pounds. For those with strong physical skills, make short work of big pile of rubble and widespread. These are noisier than electric models andHearing protection is useful. Most of them require a combination of gas and oil, as a two-stroke engine. Four-stroke engines operate with only one petrol as fuel.

Backpack A more expensive version of the backpack blowers are models, they weigh more than fine, up to 25 pounds. They also offer the flexibility, on the back, which allows the user more freedom of movement performed. These are very popular with commercial growers andseem to do a little power 'more like a hand fan. However, do not break down or evacuated.

Gas-wheel Another type is the gas blower wheel. It is a bulky device that has wheels and a lot of power. This type of fan is suitable for large areas. They have four-stroke engines, no need to mix oil with gasoline. They are very heavy at 100 pounds and require more space for storage. They do not rip or vacuumis not for commercial users with a shredder or residents with community needs pick-up from the gutter. Take more practical to operate effectively than others. These are usually used for big jobs through commercial landscape maintenance company. Although they are more expensive this way to pay for itself in the commercial sector for leaf blowers.

Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 Review | Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 Blower Review

When you need to clear a field of leaves or other debris, what better way to do it than to push a blower rather than hold one the whole time? The Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 has this  feature and is pretty easy to push and operate. Its powerful 205cc 4 cycles motor gives you 8 foot pounds of torque and can push those leaves around at 175 MPH.

If you are just wanting to round of some leaves on your small lot, this isn’t the blower for you. We recommend you have several acres of land to use the Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011. Because it’s right fewer than 80 pounds, its way to hefty and will be overkill for small lots.

The frame that the blower is mounted to has good sized semi pneumatic wheels that move nicely over cement, dirt and of course grass. One of the operational features that we loved about the Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 was its variable throttle control to limit the airflow. When you don’t have very many leaves, it doesn’t make much sense to run this unit and full throttle.

While we were testing, we found that the Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 did exactly what it was made to do. One thing we did get annoyed of was the fact that the blower tube is only on one side. Being able to switch this would make it so we could go back and forth on our lot, much like you’d do with a lawn mower .  Whit this, you’ll either have to always go the same direction, or pull the unit backwards to make sure the leaves are going in the right direction.

Overall quality on the Troy-Bilt 24A-672G011 is wonderful, as expected from something that is made by Troy-Bilt. Because it harnesses so many great features but is limited in the sense that you can’t quite direct the airflow, we give this leaf blower a 4 out of 5 star rating.
