If you go to Target, Home Depot or any of the other big chains that sell the Toro Electric Shovel you will probably find the same thing that I did...that it is SOLD OUT. Why? Because this is one of the most helpful tools to have ever been placed on the market. It works fairly well on small... -

Im new to using a snowblower so i wanted to know what is a choke used for and how would i know how to adjust it?
When the motor is cold, the choke helps it to start. It works by closing down the air intake so the fuel mixture is richer, meaning it has more gas per unit air. Generally, you would put the choke on full to start a cold motor on a cold day.

is their an air filter like a lawn mower?
My snowblower doesn't have an air filter. I guess the amount of pollen and other dust in winter time is minimal...

First time owner of a snowblower here although I have owned motorbikes for a while. The manual gives me ratio on oil/gas mix for 1.5 gallons and upwards with oil but the snowblower only holds .25 gallons. Whats the point of that formula?
Yes always mix it in a gascan and pour it into the snowblower as you use it.

Asteroids may yield precious metals, cosmic riches
SEATTLE — Using space-faring robots to mine precious metals from asteroids almost sounds easy when former astronaut Tom Jones describes it — practically like clearing a snow-covered driveway.
Jones, an adviser to a bold venture that aims to extract gold, platinum and rocket fuel from the barren space rocks, said many near-Earth asteroids have a loose rocky surface held together only weakly by gravity.
"It shouldn't be too hard to invent a machine like a snow blower to pick up material off these asteroids," explained Jones, a veteran of four space shuttle missions.
But it will be risky and monstrously expensive, which is why some of the biggest and richest names in high-technology — including the barons of Google and filmmaker James Cameron — are behind the project.
If the plan gets off the ground as planned, robots could be extracting cosmic riches within 10 years.
Outside experts are skeptical because the program would probably require untold millions or perhaps billions of dollars, plus huge advances in technology. Yet the same entrepreneurs behind this idea also pioneered the selling of space rides to tourists — a notion that seemed fanciful not long ago.
Toro 521 Snowblower leaking Gas - Tech Support Forum
I have an old Toro that still runs like a champ but having some issues this year. In previous years I have had gas leak once I fill the tank. The leak seemed to be coming from a hose that is just below the gas tank after a knob where I can turn it and it would cut off the leak. So in the past I would turn the knob and release gas to the engine and a little gas would leak (not much) and then once done turn it back and no issues. This year it seems like it is now leaking in the hose from the gas canister to the knob and then also still in the hose from the knob to the engine.
Paper Therapy Ponderings: Saturday, December 4, 2010
Good Saturday evening. We had our first snow of the season - luckily it was not too heavy. I went to get my snowblower ready to go - filled the gas tank - primed the engine - went in the house - I know I need to prime the engine awhile before it will start. I started smelling gas - all the gas - drained out of the snowblower onto the garage floor. Yuck - it was not on my list of things to scrub the garage floor. My car probably reeks - I will have to move it outdoors tomorrow and open up the windows to air it out. Now I need to get the snowblower repaired. Not something I wanted to do.
