In the 1960s and 1970s, John Deere’s tractors evolved dramatically from small machines into large, powerful tractors with modern advances and muscular engines; it was a period of the greatest changes since the 1920s. Deere christened these tractors the New Generation. This book in the Tractor Legacy series examines these Big Green machines in detail, with archival and current photography of restored tractors, a thorough historical text, and details of model specifications and variations.

Electric Snow Throwers, Blowers & Power Shovels: How to Choose and ...
The smallest electric snow throwers are power shovels. They don't have wheels and are designed to be lifted. Larger electric throwers are like push lawn mowers, not large or powerful enough to be ride-on or self-propelled.
Popular brands include Toro (Power Curve 1800), Snow Joe, Yard-Man, MTD, Sunbeam, Yard Machines and Murray.
Snow Thrower Power, Weight and PerformanceThe range of available electric snow thrower models (including power shovels) is roughly as follows:
$100 to $300. 6 to 12 amperes (at 110 to 120 volts). 12 to 25 pounds (weight of unit). 12 to 19 inches inlet width (clearing width). 4 to 11 inches inlet height (clearing height, snow depth). 300 to 800 pounds of snow thrown per minute. Up to 25 feet throw range. While out-powered by gas throwers, even power shovels are serious tools that can throw a few hundred pounds of snow a minute. Definitely a back-saver.
Electric Versus Gas Snow ThrowersThe advantage of electric snow throwers is that they don't have many of the drawbacks of gas snow throwers:
Noisy engine. Engine maintenance required. Trouble starting the engine, especially on cold days. Garage space needed for storage (many electric snow throwers can be hung on the wall).Electric snow throwers are convenient but have limited power. The question is, can they do the job?
Jobs for Electric Snow ThrowersElectric power shovels can do jobs that gas throwers can't: steps, patios and decks. Larger wheeled electric snow throwers can't handle steps but are better for driveways, and are still good with patios and decks.
A gas snow blower is needed for long driveways but a city or suburban homeowner with, say 50 to 100 feet of driveway, can get by quite well with an electric snow blower (and an extension cord). As long as the machine does most of the heavy-lifting, all the operator needs is a little patience.
Electric snow throwers can't handle gravel or hardened ice. Compressed snow or crusty ice is best broken off with a shovel, and then blown away with the snow thrower.
