what is the best type of brand for snowblowers? i am searching for the top brand in snowblowers. I already have a lawnboy as lawn mower and it is amazing. I am searching for a similar brand like lawnboy but for snow.
Toro is hard to beat. They also own Lawn Boy so you already know their standards for quality. Ariens also makes a great snowblower. I would be comfortable with either of these brands. Brands I would avoid are Craftsman, Mtd and Husqvarna.

I went to a small power shop today who sells Ariens, Toro, and Husky snowblowers. They said the Ariens they carry are better quality than the ones that are made for Home Depot. Something about the specs being different. Is this true?
Generally yes, big box stores get the "lower" grade of an item. WalMart is horrible about this.

Storm leaves most of WNY unscathed
SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Those 70-degree days back in March seem like a distant memory now and it was the snowblowers, not the lawn mowers, that needed gassing up south of the city.
News 4 meteorologists have been telling viewers for days about the heavy, water-laden snow heading for WNY. Though some went without power for parts of Monday, for the most part, WNY escaped the storm unscathed.
After one of the easiest winters in recent memory, Old Man Winter came back and hit ski country with a springtime sucker punch.
"I saw four to five cars off the road. I saw a tow truck and police helping one vehicle. There was just people the road everywhere," said Jesse Dickson.
Bryce McWilliams said, "I witnessed a few accidents on the highway there, but it seemed like everybody was fine and walked away."
Beechtree Road in the Cattaraugus County Town of Ashford was closed after a 50-foot Maple was uprooted by the heavy snow.
And in the Wyoming County Town of Wethersfield, National Grid crews dealt with downed power lines.
