Piece of Garbage
DO NOT BUY....total piece of garbage...spent $2200 on this and it worked for 1 hour and the auger belt snapped. It was frayed by a cotter pin on the brake mechanism - why a cotter pin would be so close to the belt is obsurd. HORRIBLE design. I called Troy-Bilt customer service and they wouldn't... -
It is a beast
This thing plows through 2+ ft of snow no problem, and throws it 30 ft. Has electric start, but don't use it as it starts first pull. It will shear a pin if you hit a rock just right, but I have a shale driveway and find most rocks just get thrown out the shoot. It does take some getting used to...

everyone ive talked to says this thing needs a carb rebuild cuz it wont run smoothly. where can i get a manual or something that explains how to do this?
Fuel can go stale in as little as 30 days. Empty the fuel tank and buy fresh gas. This may be an easy quick fix for your problem.

it should handle it maybe you are going too fast, try slowing down a little bit.

i live in upstate NY and need to purchase a snowblower. My driveway is around 50ft long and 25ft wide. I have been reviewing a bunch of them but can't find a clearcut choice.
I also live in upstate NY (Troy) and my driveway is almost the same size as yours.I bought my snowblower at walmart approx 5 yrs. ago for $700, its a MTD 8hp with a 28 in. cut and its more than I need.
Price is for 6 shear pins and 6 cottor pins.
