The tangled web of Gulf oil bureaucracy Chicago Daily Herald

The untruth of how a little-known federal action became an extension of the industry it oversaw spans three decades and four presidents. It began in 1982 with a grave change in the way the nation managed its logical resources, picked up rate with initiatives to streamline government in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations, and ended after the April 20 BP blowout with the Obama administering's abrupt decision to unsnap the partnership.

Few in positions of power in Washington paid bring to a close attention to the Minerals Administration Service and the hard-to-take it world it was charged with regulating. When they did, it was often to insistence the agency to increase the monied it earned from leases it sold and the presentation that followed. Over its 28-year summary, MMS grew to become one of the government's largest returns collectors, after the Internal Takings Service.

As oil and gas companies took their drilling operations into deeper and riskier waters, MMS had to rely on its corporate partners' mastery. Along the way were warning signs of the partnership's imbalance, but the dynamism's track record of no serious accidents provided a cheer level that proved fake.

My gas leaf blower is not working?

It's only one year old and we have only used it twice. It is a gas blower and it is the type you have to mix the gas with oil. Well, we did that and changed out the gas since it had set up over the year. We used it last week and it worked fine. Now we can't get it to start. We can't take it back to the store for it has been over a year now but we have only used it twice. Also we did try putting in a new spark plug. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

I have found that when they set a long time they will build up of dirt in the muffler, you will have to take it apart and clean the screen inside.

So sorry.

Is your mixture of gas/oil correct?
Is the switch on?
Try using the choke.
Carburetor?

I bought a cheap weed eater from walmart and hardly used it and the carburetor was screwed, luckily my friend is handy at small engines and fixed it because a new one cost as much as the weed eater itself.

Should a Heil gas furnace blower kick on for 5 seconds every time after it completes a heating cycle?

I have never had gas heat before. My Heil furnace goes through this cycle -- it ignites the furnace, warms about 20 seconds or so, kicks on the blower, and heats the house quickly and beautifully. Then, it clicks off. Five seconds later, the blower kicks back on for five seconds and then goes off. It does this every time. Is that how it works? If so, why?

No it shouldn't do that. The blower off time delay should be adjusted on the furnace control board. The control board has a built in timer that shuts the fan off. If it shuts off too fast the heat left over in the furnace can cause it to come back on. On older furnaces there is a temperature switch that does it. If your furnace is older, then the temperaure switch can be adjusted. For more info, check out the furnace page at www.hvac-for-beginners.com

Maybe you should upgrade your furnace to the latest model, the Sig Heil.

There's usually an adjustable setting for the temperature the blower kicks on at. Sounds like yours may be set too low.

The part of the heat exchanger where the sensor is located is probably being heated by the rest of it when the blower stops blowing cooler air on the part where the sensor's located.

How do I start a gas leaf blower?

I'm having trouble starting my gas leaf blower. I lost the manual and i see that there is a choke and blow speed and I know that there is a certain method to starting it. I just can't figure it out!

Thanks

Step 1: Make sure you have the correct gas (Petrol) mix, which should be 2-stroke, 40:1. If in doubt, empty the tank (use for cleaning purpose), and make a new mix, precisely!
Step 2: There is a little "rubber bubble" near where the choke lever is. Press and release it 6 times, slowly.
Step 3: Put the blow speed on its slowest setting.
Step 4: Switch the On/Off switch into "On".
Step 5: Put the choke to "full on".
Step 6: Pull the starter rope 2 times, not more.
Step 7: Put the choke to "half"
Step 8: Pull the starter rope again....it should start running.
Step 9: Put the choke to "off".
If that doesn't work, you might have dirt in your spark plug. Needs to remove and clean.
No point in trying "for hours" if it doesn't start after above procedure, you just flood the engine. Need to wait hours between trials......

What is wrong with my Featherlite Weedeater Gas Blower?

I replaced the primer bubble last week plus both fuel lines. Also replaced the spark plug. It ran and worked for about an hour and just quit. The primer bubble will not pull gas and will not pop out. If I loosen one of the screws it will pop out. What do I do next?

Are you sure that one of the fuel lines isn't pinched? This can happen when you replace them. How about the filter? Is it plugged? The other thing would be to rebuild the carburetor. It is an easy job and the kits are available at most small engine repair shops.

You have air in the fuel line connected to the primer bubble.
when you loosen the screw, the air escapes, but more enters when you re-tighten. remove the bubble, fill with fuel and re-install. Same principal as priming a pump, and syphoning fluids, the line must have no air in it.
